Integrated Approaches to Human Migration Mobility in an Era of Rapid Global Change
Migration
This Collaborative Research Action (CRA) focused on Integrated Approaches to Human Migration/Mobility in an Era of Rapid Global Change and invited proposals that contribute to an integrated systems approach to accurately characterize migration and mobility and its intersection with Global Change, both closely related and intersecting phenomena. Proposals were expected to illuminate the determinants of migration – why people move, do not move, from and to where and when, and on what time scale, in relation to Global Change processes like environmental and climate change, demographic changes, consumption patterns, energy use and land-use. Other studies were also encouraged, including exploration of dependencies, linkages, and/or impacts between Global Change, migration and mobility, human constructs, social science and humanities approaches. Applicants were invited to submit research proposals that address at least one of the three call themes:
  • Data and methodology
  • Policy
  • Human-centric approaches that integrate human perspectives and needs in all steps and aspects of a project and beyond.
The call was launched in 2022 and the selected projects are ongoing.
This CRA was supported by FWF, FAPESP, ANR, RCN, NRF, SRC/Formas, RDI, TÜBİTAK, NSF, Future Earth, IAI, and SIDA.
Five projects were selected:
