December 1, 2014The Future Earth Secretariat is seeking five Global Hub Directors for its globally distributed headquarters in Boulder (USA), Montreal (Canada), Paris (France), Stockholm (Sweden) and Tokyo (Japan). A Deputy Director (Synthesis & Foresight) is also sought for the Paris office.
International Council for Science (ISCU) announces Dr. Heide Hackmann to be Executive Director and Dr. Lucilla Spini the Head of Science Programmes
December 1, 2014Heide Hackmann, a social scientist with extensive experience running international research organizations, will be Executive Director of the Council’s Secretariat from March 2015. Lucilla Spini, a biological anthropologist with experience in international science coordination will take on the newly created role of Head of Science Programmes in early January.
These awards provide support to transdisciplinary, multinational consortia to engage in global change research through a 14-country joint research initiative supported by the Belmont Forum and the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI).
Future Earth Engagement Committee announced
November 1, 2014The Science and Technology Alliance for Global Sustainability (the Alliance) announced today the appointment of an Engagement Committee with 15 members who will work on involving stakeholders throughout the entire research process from co-design to dissemination.
Coastal Vulnerability Collaborative Research Mid-term Projects Meeting held on September 23, 2014
October 7, 2014The TPO (NERC) held a mid-term projects meeting alongside the ‘Deltas in Times of Change II’ conference in Rotterdam on September 23, 2014. The Belmont Forum projects were joined by four aligned EU projects funded under FP-7.

Biodiversity Futures: Projecting Changes in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Decision-Making
May 2, 2014The Belmont Forum call for proposals on biodiversity scenarios is now open. The objective is to stimulate the formation of international networks of scientists and the advancement of the inter- and trans-disciplinary methodologies of scenario-building needed to enhance usefulness of biodiversity scenarios in decision-making.
The Annual Report highlights the key activities of the past year, and presents the major accomplishments and findings of our global network of researchers in the human dimensions of global environmental change.
