Story: The New Summers.
Families enjoy the lake while the mountains burn. Weeks earlier, this same place had to be evacuated due to the same fire. When the danger passed, the area reopened, as many people depend on tourism for their livelihood.
Lately, summers in northwestern Argentine Patagonia have become the epicenter of large fires that affect communities and the surrounding environment. The inhabitants of these towns try to adapt to these situations, but significant paradigm shifts are needed in how we relate to our environment. Participatory actions that involve the entire community are key.
