On December 14, 2017, Belmont Forum Secretariat Executive Director Dr. Erica Key, Communications Officer Susanna Ehlers and University of Arizona Professor Barron Joseph Orr held a town hall at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting.

Key’s presentation, Belmont Forum: Strategic Opportunities for Productive Partnerships, provided an overview of the Belmont Forum’s unique approach to funding collaborative, transdisciplinary, international research.

The Belmont Forum endorsed a Data Skills Curricula Framework to enhance information management skills for data-intensive science at its annual Plenary Meeting held in November. The Framework was developed by the Forum’s e-Infrastructures and Data Management (e-I&DM) Project to improve data literacy, security and sharing in data-intensive, transdisciplinary global change research.

This year’s conference will be held from December 11 to 15 in New Orleans and is the largest earth and space science meeting of its kind. AGU offers a unique opportunity for scientists, funders, and stakeholders from around the world to connect and learn about cutting edge research.
