The Adelante Initiative, a BelmontForum-supported project in Nicaragua, demonstrates how research can drive tangible societal outcomes. La Isla Network has developed the PREP methodology (Prevention, Resilience, Efficiency, Protection) to combat heat stress in sugarcane plantations. Their work has led to a decline in heat-related illnesses, an increase in productivity, and a significant return on investment.
