Belmont Forum and CNR Italy Deepen Existing Collaboration in Panama

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The Belmont Forum recently welcomed a high-level delegation from the Italian National Research Council (CNR) to its Panama office. The visit was an exciting opportunity to deepen the existing collaboration between the two organizations.

Led by its president, Dr. Maria Chiara Carrozza, the CNR delegation included several department directors, notably Dr. Petracchini, who heads the Department of Earth and Environment, and Dr. Moles, director of the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (IBBC) of the CNR. Both their expertise aligns closely with the Belmont Forum’s focus areas.

Including representatives from both the Belmont Forum (Nicole Arbour – Executive Director, and Hilario Espinosa – Fellow and Secretariat) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research – IAI (Anna Stewart Ibarra, Executive Director), the meeting paved the way for future scientific cooperation in areas of shared interest. This collaboration is an important step in advancing international research and addressing global challenges.
